Monsoon is a blessing, it rejuvenates the rivers and reinvigorates Goa's natural habitat. Do look forward to experiencing it to its fullest. Here are the things that you can do during monsoon

Magnificent Dudhsagar Waterfall

The true sense of how majestic and ginormous the beautiful Dudhsagar Waterfalls is can only be witnessed during monsoon. It's powerful gush forms clouds of fog as its water drops down, creating an illusion of water draining right out of the clouds onto the earth. Covered with green vegetation all around it is a sight to see.

To get to the falls you have to trek through the jungle with a vibrant atmosphere, with small streams running below your feet. The trekking in itself is no less than thrilling.

Thrilling River Rafting

With the arrival of monsoon, the downpour swells the rivers enough to make them suitable for rafting. Mhadei River is the best river that offers great gushing flow with strong rapids to make your rafting experience both thrilling and unforgettable. The best spots for this activity are located near a town called Valpoi, which again is famous for the seasonal waterfalls that emerge during the monsoon.

Apart from being an adrenaline-filled experience, the river is ideal for amateurs and the river is forgiving. The river is surrounded by deep green forests of Mhadei Wildlife Sanctuary so look out for any wildlife wandering around on the banks of the river.

Road Trip To The Western Ghats

Goa is surrounded by the Western Ghats to its east. These ghats are great for a road trip during the monsoon since there are places all along the roads where small waterfalls emerge due to the monsoon showers. Apart from that, throughout the entire route, you will witness breathtaking views of the ghats. A great activity for those who just love riding.

The Western Ghats

During a cloudy day and when it rains heavily the entire ghats are covered with mist as if the clouds have literally descended over the ghats. It is just awesome! Chorla Ghat and Amboli Ghat are the places you must look forward to for your road trip. While at Chorla Ghats you can also have a visit to the Anjunem Dam which is visible from the top of the ghats.
